Cross & Community- Christ Over Culture!
At First Baptist Dry Prong, the Cross is our foundation and Community is our calling. We are a family bound by the redeeming love of Jesus, walking together in faith and grace.
We choose Christ over Culture, standing firm on the timeless truths of Scripture. Our mission is to reflect His light in a changing world, prioritize His Kingdom above all else.
Our Core Beliefs
The Scriptures
The Bible is God's perfect word, our supreme authority for faith and life.
God
There is one living and true God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe.
The Trinity
God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is the eternal Son of God, fully God and man, our only Savior.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and empowers believers for service.
Humanity
Created in God's image but fallen through sin, requiring His grace.
Salvation
A free gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
God’s Grace
God's purposeful election and preservation of those who believe.
The Church
A local body of baptized believers joined for worship and missions.

Our duty is to share the Gospel with all people in every nation.
Stewardship
We manage our time and treasure for God's glory and His kingdom.
Marriage & Family

Christian Society
We are called to be salt and light, pursuing righteousness in our world.
The Last Things
God, in His own time, will bring all things to their appropriate end.
The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 is our doctrinal standard. This page serves as a faithful, readable summary of these foundational truths.
The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21
God
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe.
Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4
Jesus Christ
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, perfectly revealing and doing the will of God.
John 1:1-18; Hebrews 4:14-16
Salvation
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.
Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10
The Church
A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel.
Matthew 16:15-19; ACTS 2:41-42
The Christian and Society
All Christians are under obligation to make the will of Christ supreme in their own lives and in human society. We should work to provide for the orphaned, the needy, the abused, and the helpless.
Micah 6:8; Matthew 5:13-16
Marriage and the Family
God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime.
Genesis 2:24; Mark 10:6-9

Following Jesus isn't solo. We grow through authentic relationships and biblical fellowship.

Service
We follow the example of Christ by serving others in humility, both in the church and our town.

We are sent people, carrying the Gospel message from Dry Prong to the ends of the earth.
